Alice Hall – violinist

Alice Hall

Born in Kent, Alice is predominately found performing all over the world as a freelance Violinist, appearing with the best Orchestras in the country. Her other passion has always been to paint. Alice has always had a passion for Art, encouraged by her Grandfather, who was a commercial artist and later assistant to the Queen’s Heraldic Artist and her father John who is an avid painter. She has spent many years using her free time to paint, and set up her business using enforced time off from her career. Her art is inspired by her travels whilst touring and riding her bike, with a particular focus on, and love of Kent scenery. She has a passion for painting landscapes, cityscapes and seascapes, working predominately with oil on canvas and oil paper.

What has creating art meant to you over the last year?

Since losing my violin playing work because of the pandemic, I have finally had the time to set up my art business selling my paintings. Painting has become a welcome focus each week, and I have loved immersing myself in painting the landscapes that surround me in my new home in Kent. Painting has been a way of distracting myself, giving me the ‘busy’ feeling each day that I have lost from an absence of career. I have enjoyed nothing more than photographing, then painting the ever changing seasons and landscapes that now surround me; it has become my therapy!
