ChamberMusicBox makes a much-awaited return to North London with a powerful celebration of female talent to celebrate International Women's Day

After Covid turned last Friday's ChamberMusicBox concert in aid of the humanitarian relief effort in Ukraine from a trio programme into a piano recital, pianist Ilya Kondratiev, violinist Yuri Kalnits and cellist Julia Morneweg are returning to perform their original programme of trios by Arensky and Rachmaninov.

ChamberMusicBox returns to St Cuthbert's for an evening of chamber music by Johannes Brahms, featuring his Trio for piano, violin and horn Op. 40 as well as one of his most significant works, the Piano Quartet in g minor Op. 25.

This concert is an exciting collaboration between ChamberMusicBox and Three Essential Elements, an international collective of composers, who share the goal of presenting new music that is immediately accessible to audiences. Eight composers with a background in writing for ballet, film, TV, opera and modern dance have each written a short work for clarinet and string quartet, a combination championed by Mozart, Brahms and many great composers since.

Get into the Christmas spirit with ten of Europe's finest string players who will be performing a classical Christmas concert with a twist: alongside seasonal baroque favourites and popular carols, expect dazzling virtuosity in Leonid Desyatnikov's violin concerto arrangement of Astor Piazzolla's Winter and a jazzy rendition of Bach's Double Violin Concerto.
