Maria Konkova – pianist

Maria was born in 1976 into a family of musicians. From an early age, her life was connected to music. At the age of five, she was accepted at the Moscow Gnessin School piano class. After graduation from the school, she continued studying at the Gnessin Academy of Music in the class of Professor Senkov. Maria is very active as a soloist and chamber musician, touring many European countries and the U.S.A. At the moment she is Head of the Department of piano accompaniment at the Moscow EG Gilels music school. Since the childhood, Maria’s interest was in drawing and painting and while studying at the Gnessin Academy of Music, she was also accepted at the College of Animated Cinematography on faculty of the artist-decorator, from which she graduated in 2000. Her works were exhibited in different exhibitions and galleries in Moscow. A few years ago she got interested in mosaic manufacturing, which she studied at the Granat Studio in Moscow.

She is engaged both in creation of mosaic pictures and also mastered digital painting, especially on iPad, creating considerable quantity of portraits, landscapes on a tablet.
