Originally from Australia, I am a freelance double bass player working in London in orchestras, theatres and recording studios.
For a while I was interested in ceramics but was asked to exhibit some paintings in the local Nunhead Art Trail which I have continued to do successfully for the last five or so years. One of my pictures was also selected for the Dulwich Picture Gallery open exhibition.
My pictures are inspired by scenes around where I live in south London, as well as the Kent countryside and coast.
What has creating art meant to you over the last year?
It’s been good to have an artistic outlet especially since most of my musical activities have stopped.
This last year I have caught up on a couple of picture commissions of buildings and have been able to spend more time on them than I normally would have. The extra time has allowed me to experiment a bit with new techniques and also make plans for building a studio in the garden.
